Ruger is excited to offer you an opportunity to bid on and acquire rare, unusual, discontinued, or one-of-a-kind Ruger firearms and accessories. All items are available to qualified buyers as part of a "no reserve" auction subject, of course, to applicable laws.

This is a charity auction benefiting the Youth Shooting Sports Alliance.

We have for auction a 10/22 Carbine Rifle with the stock engraved by Investment Arms of Fort Collins, Colorado. The serial number on this rifle is 253-09596, and the testfire date is October 25, 2001.

The stock engraving was not something commissioned by Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. That being said, Investment Arms decided to help raise money for the families of firemen and police officers who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The idea was to distribute 500 rifles to each state at a selling price of $399.00 each. They decided to use the popular Ruger 10/22 rifle for this project.

The right side of the forend of the stock is laser engraved with the words, "FOR THOSE WHO ANSWERED THE CALL, WE WILL NOT FORGET. SEPTEMBER 11, 2001." The butt end of the stock has an artist's rendering of a bald eagle, an American flag, the Pentagon, and the World Trade Center twin towers. There is also a gold-plated, 2001 New York state quarter inlaid in the stock. On the left side forend are the words, "SOUTH CAROLINA EDITION 162 OF 500."

It appears to have not been fired beyond normal testing during manufacture, and is being sold "as is." The purchaser assumes all liability for its safe and proper ownership, storage, use, and resale.

It will be shipped in a 50th Anniversary Ruger shipping box along with an appropriate instruction manual. The rifle is a part of the Ruger factory collection in Southport, Connecticut, and a Certificate of Authenticity will be mailed to the winner of the auction.
